7 Months

Weight: ? No scale or doctor's visit this month!
Length:
Head Circumference:
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Light, still thinking blonde

Firsts: Crawling! Eating food!

Other fun stuff: She celebrated her first Thanksgiving and Ohio State v. Michigan game with Aunty Lynn and Uncle Mike in Mississippi. She's not been napping, at all. She's also had some rough sleeping. Not sure if it's teeth (although no new ones have appeared) or all the travel or what. But it's making for tired Mumma and Dadda!

I'm writing this after the fact and I honestly don't remember a whole lot. Here's to trying to keep things more current! I thought about trying to back date this, but let's be honest, it's January of the next year and I'm jsut now getting around to these. Oh well! Better late than never.

Friday, November 7th  We wanted to try her high chair before we left home. It's still really big for little C so we didn't pack it. She had a lot more fun trying out the new cat beds on our last day in ND.

Saturday, November 8th  Day 1 of 4 on our road trip to Alabama. First stop: South Dakota. C did really well on her first big car trip.

Wednesday, November 12th  Settling into our temporary home in the South and crawling backwards!

Thursday, November 13th  She loves admiring her hands

Friday, November 14th  Practicing sitting with some help from the boppy. And doing a lot of backwards scooting and rolling!

Saturday, November 15th  A big day! C ate her first food; Sweet potato. She wasn't too sure about it. And she got to play with Josh.

Monday, November 17th  C's second food; avocado. What a mess that was!

Tuesday, November 18th  Trying so hard to crawl! But she keeps ending up stuck under furniture :-)

Wednesday, November 19th  C got a very special present in the mail from Grandpa Lyons; a handmade blanket. Her outfit just happened to coordinate! And a picture of precious baby hands.

Thursday, November 20th  Pretty girl in her jeans and T

Friday, November 21st  Saying goodbye to Daddy before school. And then napping and playing the day away with Momma.

Saturday, November 22nd  Playtime with Daddy and Josh during the Buckeyes game.

Monday, November 24th  Rocking a t-shirt in November thanks to the beautiful AL. weather

Tuesday, November 25th  Learning about Grandma rolls for the first time. This is the important stuff in life!

Wednesday, November 26th  The day before her first Thanksgiving and she's in summer clothes!

November 29th  Her first Michigan game! With the most adorable outfit courtesy of Aunt Lynn.
And later that evening her first picture's with the fabulous Aunt Lynn!

It's December 1st!

Tuesday, December 2nd  Her first Christmas PJs

Wednesday, December 3rd  Some of her first real crawling! Of course Mumma loved that her motivation was a pile of books.

And her first trip to a Museum (Old Town Alabama)!

Thursday, December 4th  Proof that she's human. Our time in Alabama was not easy and I saw a lot of this! The consequences of not napping, probably among other things. This is real life!

Friday, December 5th  Her "pig face" and then her just being beautiful!

Saturday, December 6th  C is 7 months old! This photo shoot was with Grandma Cathy's quilt since her's was at home.

And last, but not least I have to include a picture of C's very first Christmas tree! Definitely an AF tree if I ever saw one ;-)

Happy New Year

We are back home in North Dakota after traveling for the past two months.

Although I tried to keep up with the blog, it obviously didn't happen. A baby who refused to nap, days and days in our car and hotel rooms, an erratic schedule, time changes, the busy holiday season, and wanting to soak up every second with family while we were in Ohio are just a few reasons things here have fallen behind.

I am okay with that.

The past two days have been extremely busy and tiring for us. J unpacked the car, then we unpacked the bags, I did laundry and had to shop to restock the kitchen. There were various additional odds and ends that needed done after not being home for two months.

Today is Monday. It was -15 degrees when we woke up and there is snow on the ground. J is back to work. I'm still doing what feels like endless loads of laundry and have our giant suitcase left to unpack. We are battling the sniffles, but praise God, somehow have avoided the rampant flu epidemic through all our travels.

C had a pretty restful night and is napping right now. Eternal thanks to Aunt Abbie for getting her napping again when we were in Ohio. I've got a cup of hot tea in hand, music playing, and I'm slowly drawing up to-do lists, crossing tasks off the lists from the past weekend and taking a deep breath.

I'm hoping over the month of January to get caught up here on the blog. C's 7 month post is 3/4 done, but she turns 8 months tomorrow! So much has changed since we left two months ago; she is is now eating and feeding herself, our crawler is chasing the cats, and we had to lower her crib the first night back.

I also want to take a look back at last year, my goals and my final books. I think rather than a new set of goals for 2015 I'm going to think about what worked for us last year, what didn't and try to tweak and keep track of things. But as I'm learning with a small child things are constantly changing and you have to be flexible; not my strong point. With a deployment looming in this new year things are really going to have to remain fluid in our lives.

Never a dull moment here.

Cheers to 2015!

I started my first book of the year last night; The Fellowship of the Ring. No, I've never read it before. Sacrilege I know!
