“The years go fast but the days go so slow”

Head Circumference: 45 cm (48th percentile)
Eyes: Blue. If they change now I’d be shocked. Everyone comments on her gorgeous eyes.
Hair: The consensus is blonde, but we’re still waiting for more hair to be certain.
Firsts: Dancing and conducting when music plays. She got tooth #5 and is working on #6. She likes to put toys in things and take them out again. Starting to do high five sometimes. Made her favorite toy loin “roar” all by herself! She walked (with assistance) for the first time on her birthday!
Other fun stuff: She loves being outside. When it’s nice, we take a blanket out to the yard and play. She loves leaves, sticks and mulch. She also loves going on walks. She loves her kitties; she chases them and on the rare occasion that she “catches” Brutus she hugs him to death. She likes being out, at the store, a restaurant, etc. She’s a people watcher and tells everyone “Hi!”. She still loves reading when she’s not on the move. Favorite books are her Veggie Tales and Baby Lit books, especially Pride and Prejudice right now.
She’s doing better sleeping. Not perfect, but better. Right now it’s a fight, at times, to get her to lay down. But once she’s down she’s sleeping better. She does two naps, one short and one longer (most of the time). She’s standing a lot more, and now she can stand without holding something for short periods of time. She's cruising more confidently; I’m sure walking isn't far off.
Tuesday, April 7th One of our last days in sunny, hot beautiful Florida. I walked in to her room to get her up that morning and found this! Silly girl. It made my morning .
Wednesday, April 8th New outfit; the shirt is from Aunty Lynn.
Saturday, April 11th Back home in ND. It was a beautiful, warm day and we spent the evening playing outside just like in Florida.
Sunday, April 12th Was a full day. C chased cats in the morning. Then we all went to town and had lunch with uncle Andy and did some shopping (new shoes for C). C finished the day by watching the final round of The Masters and eating her very own cheese pizza!
Monday, April 13th Helping Mummy with her new walker. She’s not sure about the walker yet.
Wednesday, April 15th First fort! C was having a rough day teething (crabby, fever, not napping all after not sleeping well the night before) so Mummy decided drastic measures were in order :-)
Saturday, April 18th Reading her Old McDonald poke-a-dot book (a Christmas present from the Moldovans) before bed. This book is so fun Mummy even likes playing with it!
Sunday, April 19th Playing and reading with Daddy before a trip to town for lunch.
Monday, April 20th One of her favorite pastimes is standing/sitting in the front window (after making the cats vacate the same spot) and waving at the passing cars. Sometimes people will see her and wave back. Later that day we went out to Texas Road House for dinner and she got her first famous roll. She was a fan! We had to tell Aunty Lynn all about it.
Tuesday, April 21st Hugs for her kitty cat Brutus. She says kitty!
Wednesday, April 22nd Her big, beautiful smile! We see that quite a lot.
Thursday, April 23rd More smiles from our sweet, pretty girl
Saturday, April 25th Play time with Brutus. He’s such a good, tolerant kitty. He was purring the whole time (and Mommy was supervising!)
Sunday, April 26th It was such a beautiful day we played outside. She wanted to take the phone and snap her own pictures.

Monday, April 27th We went to the chiropractor and had some errands to run. So we had a mommy daughter lunch date at Panera. She had fun people watching and smiling!
Tuesday, April 28th First time on the swings this year. First time with daddy around to watch. Her very first swing ride was in Alabama last fall. I think she enjoyed it more this time!
Thursday, April 30th In her Buckeye’s cheerleader outfit on a warm day
Friday, May 1st She was making tons of funny faces! Not sure why, but I enjoyed watching her and laughing.
I tried on the dress I bought her for her birthday… But 12 month sizes are still too big. And it’s hard work crawling in a dress!!
Apparently it was a good day for pictures because here are two more from later that afternoon!
Sunday, May 3rd Pretty girl will be one year old in just three days!!
Tuesday, May 5th Shopping at the commissary with Grandpa and eating a lemon…?! Apparently she has a sour tooth.

~ HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY~
I sewed this birthday banner for C. I’m pretty proud of it! And she can use it every year. 
The birthday girl first thing that morning. She was up early (5:30) but she talked quietly until 6 when I went in to get her.

She was so messy from her muffin we just stripped her down! She spent the rest of the evening playing with her elephant and the cat. She walked for the very first time on her birthday with her elephant!!
